Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions.
Everything you need to know about working with RDM Electric. Still stuck? We're a call away.
Pricing & booking
How does pricing work?
We use upfront, flat-rate pricing. After a quick assessment you get a fixed price for the job — you approve it before any work begins. No hourly meters, no surprise add-ons.
Why is a deposit required to book?
A small deposit reserves your appointment slot and is applied directly to your final invoice. It's charged securely through Square. You can see the deposit amount on each service before you book.
Do you charge for estimates?
Quotes for planned work (panel upgrades, EV chargers, lighting) are free. Diagnostic visits for troubleshooting a fault carry a flat diagnostic fee, which we credit toward the repair if you proceed.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, processed securely by Square. Your card details never touch our servers.
Scheduling & service
How soon can you come out?
Most standard jobs are booked within a few days, and we keep same-day slots open for urgent issues. Pick the earliest available time right on the booking page.
What areas do you serve?
Seattle and the greater Seattle area — across Snohomish and King County. Not sure if you're in range? Send us a message and we'll confirm.
Do you handle emergencies?
Yes. For sparking, burning smells, or a total power loss, call us directly at (206) 676-5600 — don't wait to book online.
Will the same electrician show up?
Every visit is staffed by a licensed, background-checked RDM electrician — never an unvetted subcontractor.
Permits, warranty & safety
Do you pull permits?
Yes. Panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators and other permit-required work are fully permitted and coordinated for inspection. We handle the paperwork.
Is your work guaranteed?
All workmanship is backed by a 1-year warranty. If something we installed isn't right, we return and fix it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties cover supplied parts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — we're a licensed electrical contractor, fully insured and bonded. Proof of licensing and insurance is available on request.
Can you get my home EV-charger ready?
Absolutely. We assess your panel capacity, install a dedicated Level 2 circuit, and test the charger — compatible with Tesla, ChargePoint and universal J1772 units.
